Everybody wants to start a clothing line these days athletes, men, women, and even celebrities. With so much competition its beginning to be difficult to build a successful clothing line, but its never been easier than now to fail!
I’m here to tell you if you follow these 7 easy steps below you will be on your way to starting an unsuccessful clothing line in no time.
7 Steps to Starting an Unsuccessful Clothing Line:
1. Store payments
- Trust every store you work with and use consignment as a way of re-payment for your sold goods at all times. Offer extended payment options to new and established stores.
- Don’t reward stores for early payments with discounts.
- Be happy that a store pays you whenever they do. You have more important things to do than worry about unpaid invoices.
- Get in the store for now and worry about how they are planning to pay for the clothing later. A store wouldn’t place an order if they couldn’t pay for it…that’s just unprofessional.

Note: Make sure you read all the mistakes in by commentators! Thanks
I was looking through some of my notes for articles and just wanted to come up with something new that I haven’t seen on any other blog…at least in the manner that I am going to provide the information. What better way to learn than by knowing and listening to mistakes that other clothing companies in your field make. This list is going to go on indefinitely and I will re-post it to the top of the blog either weekly or daily depending on how popular it becomes. I know most of our readers either have or are in the process of starting a clothing line have made a mistake, wit their own stories to tell of were they ordered too many products or set prices too high while trying to start their clothing line or in their day to day business activities. So I am going to begin the post by listing as many mistakes that I have made and know other companies have made that can limit your chance of success as a clothing company.

Some events are definitely coming in the near future so look out! If you live in the Atlanta area and subscribe to Dobizo than maybe we can meet up and talk about the fashion industry and some of your ideas that could make Dobizo a better place for the Global Apparel Industry.

Stay stitching is a single line of stitching around a curved edge to help prevent stretching. Usually done with bias cut edges, which would allow easy distortion of the fabric.

I know after looking at the title I wrote myself it made it seem as if this was some type of revolutionary invention for clothing, but it is a new clothing company by the name of Speak 4 Ya Wear.
I received their shirt earlier this week as promised we will review any clothing company’s that send us t-shirts, jeans, footwear…whatever. For information on where to send clothing see the Contact page.
There isn’t really much I can say about the company at this point, because their website is currently under development, but the shirt I received was good quality as far as the weight and the basic screen print. Only concern I have is that they don’t have their own labels on the neck, (Used a blank Russo Wear shirt) but their is a custom label on the bottom left seam of the shirt.
Here is some random photos of the shirt:
